Excavation, Stone and Grading Work in Raleigh, NC
We provide excavation and grading services for work that includes any of our core services which are paving, concrete flatwork and curb. This includes any balancing, cut and fill to subgrade or removal and replace that is necessary to install the hard surfaces.
Excavation
We have dozers, excavators and milling machines to do the basic core of excavation work. We are not geared toward large cut and fill projects as the scope of our projects usually is 1000 cy or less.
Stone
We are used to taking over subgrades from other contractors. This is probably the most desirable phase to hand off projects between sitework and paving contractors. In this way the subgrade can be inspected and approved ensuring a strong structural system.
Fine-grading
Fine-grading is the stage where the stone is already placed usually to +/- .1 of finish stone grade and then prepared by a skilled fine grading contractor to ensure that a reasonably consistent asphalt course can be laid. If the sitework contractor has already laid down the stone we can take the project over at this point as well.
Considerations
It is not important which phase from above that a paving project is handed from sitework contractor to paving contractor. The important part is the communication at the hand off and the reasonable clarification of scope. This limits the problems for everyone.
